Bio

Dr Yixiao Zhou is a Research Fellow at Crawford School of Public Policy, the ANU. Yixiao earned her PhD in Economics from the ANU, and her Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Science from Peking University. Yixiao’s research encompasses a range of topics in economic growth and development. She is passionate about understanding drivers of inclusive growth and development and identifying policies that enhance them. Her PhD thesis examines channels of technological catch-up and industrial upgrading in economic development. Her current key projects include the economics of innovation and automation, economic growth in China and its macroeconomic relationships with the world, inequality of opportunity, and the impacts of trade on wages and economic growth. Yixiao is a Council member of the Economics Society of Australia WA Branch (ESA WA) and the Chinese Economics Society of Australia (CESA).
