Xiu’s research interests lie broadly in financial reporting, financial analyses, internal control, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility. Currently, she is particularly interested in investigating these topics through exploring the causes and consequences of materially negative corporate events, such as regulators’ Enforcement Actions, accounting frauds, financial restatements, internal control deficiencies disclosure and environmental violations. China provides an ideal setting for this type of research because of the sizeable sample of detected fraud. Xiu's teaching interests lie in financial accounting, financial analysis and financial management.
