A Splash of Culture and Tradition
The ANU School of Culture, History & Language (CHL) is proud to host this celebration of the ANU New Year Water Festival in celebration of the Myanmar New Year in April, also known as the Water Festival. The occasion originated from old Hinduism but is now widely recognised as a culture of Theravada Buddhism countries.
The Burmese Program, the ANU Myanmar Research Centre and ANU Myanmar Student Association will present some singing, dancing, games and a taste of Myanmar cuisine!
This is also an ideal opportunity to learn a lot about not only Myanmar and the Burmese language, but also about the cultures of neighbouring countries.
So do come and join in for a splash of culture and celebration!
Please note: If you require accessibility accommodations or a visitor Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan please contact the event organisers.
