Bio

Shengnan’s research focus is on the concept of “zero waste” and theories of system innovation and sustainability transitions, with particular focus to urban sustainability experiments. Specifically, one of her major research interests is to explore how socio-technical experimentation facilitate Chinese cities transform to “zero waste” cities. She is now investigating the formation and implementation process of a single sustainability experiment and examining the vertical and horizontal linkages between and among multiple experiments.
