Bio
Janet Davey is a PhD candidate researching how people process the meaning of Chinese idiomatic expressions and their constituent characters and components. Janet's PhD project uses a psycholinguistics approach that is informed by her Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Asian Studies (Honours), and Bachelor of Asia-Pacific Studies (Year in Asia) degrees. Janet has a broad interest in Chinese linguistics, language processing, semantics, writing systems, Chinese official discourse and translation. She spends most of her spare time at the gym, where she works as a group fitness instructor.
