Visiting scholars

The Australian Centre on China in the World has a visiting program to welcomes academic visitors to stay in ANU for research purposes. Please ensure to include your contact details in your CV before submission.

Visiting academics

CIW welcomes applications from academics or professionals with substantial experience in China who would like to come to CIW for periods of up to three months. Successful applicants for visitor status will be given an office and access to university facilities. No funding is available. Applications should be received at least six months before the proposed visit and will be considered with other applications twice yearly, in April and October. Visitors will be required to give a presentation of their research and to participate actively in the academic life of CIW.

Visiting students

CIW will consider applications from graduate students who would like to come to CIW for periods of up to three months. Visiting students may be domestic or international. Successful applicants will be provided with an office, access to library, and to services such as printing and internet access. Applicants will need first of all to be in touch with a CIW academic who will agree to support the application. Applications will be considered twice per year, in April and October, and should be submitted at least six months prior to the proposed visit.
Visiting students will be required to give at least a presentation of their research and to participate actively in the academic life of CIW.

Please submit an application to apply for a visiting scholar status in ANU.
Your current association, please enter your current employer if you are associated with an university.
Please select the program you are applying for.
For Visiting Academics: please provide a brief statement (not more than 500 words) of the significance of the proposed research activities to CIW’s research or policy brief. For Visiting Students: please provide a brief statement (500 words in English) of the significance of the research activities to CIW’s research or policy brief, and including what the student would like to do while at CIW
