International Consortium on Contemporary China Studies: CIW is a founding member of the International Consortium on Contemporary China Studies. The Consortium, initiated by the Institute of International Relations at National Chengchi University, also includes the Institute of Asian Research at the University of British Columbia, the Institute of East Asia Studies at the University of California, Berkeley and the Institute of Contemporary Chinese Studies at Waseda University.
The inaugural Consortium Conference, 'An Asia-Pacific Response to the Changing US-China Relations' was hosted by National Chengchi University in Taipei, 11–12 July 2019. The second Conference will be held at UBC in Vancouver in September 2020, and CIW will host the third in Canberra in July 2021.

Lund University: CIW has a long-standing collaboration, dating back to 2017, with the Centre for East and South-East Asian Studies at Lund University to jointly publish the Made in China Journal and organise academic events such as the Made in China Summer Schools.

Global China Centre, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology: CIW is partnering with the Global China Centre to develop a new crowd-sourced interactive map of Global China. The two centres, along with Lund University and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Righs and Humanitarian Law, also jointly organised the Made in China Summer School 2020, a week-long event entitled ‘Global China: Resistance and Adaptation’.

Centre Asie du Sud Est, Institute National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales: CIW is one of the partners of an international research network led by the Centre Asia du Sud Est established as a part of the project ‘China’s Rise and the New Social Norms in ASEAN’ funded by the French Centre for National Scientific Research.
