Bio
Yuan Peng’s research focus is on urban low-carbon transition and energy transition governance in the Asia Pacific region. Specifically, one of her research interests is investigating the internal mechanisms of urban sustainability transition and the role of experimentation in this process. Her previous research, taking Shanghai as a case study, provides empirical and theoretical insights into the research domains of multi-level governance for urban mitigation and across-case learning and contextualization of introduced low-carbon solutions in cities.
She is now working on more city cases in China to understand how social/technical/policy innovations are emerging and practiced in those Chinese cities for sustainability development, and how those innovative practices can be upscaled on a large scale or duplicated in other contexts for the transformative benefits.
