Bio
Xiaoyu Lu is a research fellow at the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre at the Australian National University, with expertise in global norm diffusion, international development institutions and China's humanitarian and peace policy. He received a D.Phil in Politics at University of Oxford, and the dissertation is a political ethnography of UN agency and China's emerging role in international development norms. He previously worked as a policy associate at United Nations Development Programme, and has been involved in policy research and field missions in Syria, Venezuela, Myanmar and Peru, providing policy advice and consultation to Chinese and international think tanks and institutions.
