Bio
Tom is a PhD candidate at the ANU School of History and the National Centre for Biography. They are currently researching Australian journalists in early twentieth-century China that advised republican politicians. In 2016 they graduated from the University of Sydney: their honours thesis, A Pacifist’s Point: William Warder Cadbury, His Mission in Canton, and Public Health Initiatives 1909-1937 (2016) examined a Quaker medical missionary in Canton and his connections to the Chinese government. They are currently a visiting scholar at the State Library of New South Wales.
