Bio
Shaoling Ma is an assistant professor of humanities (literature) at Yale-NUS College, where she teaches and writes on media and media theory, Marxism, and global Chinese culture and politics. She has published in academic journals such as Science Fiction Studies, Configurations, and Mediations. Her first book manuscript, The Stone and the Wireless: Mediating China, 1861–1906 is forthcoming (Spring 2021) with Duke University Press. She is currently pursuing a second project on the recursions of digitality in contemporary media studies and global China.
Shaoling was a Visiting Fellow at the Australian Centre on China in the World from May to June 2019.
