Rowena Ebsworth is a PhD candidate focused on contentious politics and social movements. She recently completed her Bachelor of Arts with Honours through the University of Tasmania, where her thesis was on ‘The Anti-Media Monopoly Movement in Taiwan‘. As part of her undergraduate degree Rowena spent a semester studying Mandarin at National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan. Rowena’s research interest has been shaped by her own experience as a political activist and through working for human rights organisations.
