Louise Merrington

Louise Merrington was a Visiting Fellow at the Australian Centre on China in the World, ANU, focusing on the China–India political relationship. She has also worked at the University of Melbourne, as a freelance journalist for The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald, and as a public servant. She was awarded her PhD in 2012 with a thesis entitled ‘Beyond the Protracted Contest: Redefining the Sino–Indian relationship‘, for which she also received an Endeavour Research Fellowship. In 2013, Louise was an ANU/Torino World Affairs Institute Global Emerging Voices Fellow, joining 11 other young academics and professionals in Berlin, Brussels and Turin to discuss Asia–Europe relations. She is currently working on her first monograph, which is based on her PhD thesis and examines the China–India relationship in Asia.
