Ms Rowena Ebsworth
Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours), University of Tasmania
Rowena Ebsworth is a PhD candidate focused on contentious politics and social movements. She has joined the Australian Centre on China in the World, ANU, to work with Dr Luigi Tomba on contemporary student protest in Taiwan. She recently completed her Bachelor of Arts with Honours through the University of Tasmania, where her thesis was on ‘The Anti-Media Monopoly Movement in Taiwan‘. As part of her undergraduate degree Rowena spent a semester studying Mandarin at National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan. Rowena’s research interest has been shaped by her own experience as a political activist and through working for human rights organisations.
