Bio

Chao Huang is currently a research fellow of the Institute of Archaeology at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, after completing his PhD in Archaeology from the Australian National University (ANU) in 2017.

Chao’s research focuses on the prehistory of South China and Mainland Southeast Asia. He is interest in the cultural relationships and interregional interactions between ancient China and Southeast Asia.

Chao is currently conducting an archaeological project on Hainan Island and also preparing the final archaeological report of Dingsishan site in Guangxi for publication.
