Bio

Dr Cathy Honge Gong is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Research on Ageing, Health and Wellbeing (CRAHW), Research School of Population Health (RSPH), at ANU since 2013. She has contributed primarily to the ARC CEPAR and Discovery research projects in Healthy and Productive Ageing in both Australia and China. Dr Gong’s research interests are mainly in life course impacts on late life health and wellbeing, social determinants of healthy and productive ageing, intergenerational support relationships, health services use, comparative study on ageing in Asian-Pacific region, age friendly cities and communities, income and health inequalities; transitions of health, employment and wellbeing, labour market participation and retirement choices at later life. Her research has strong policy impacts on promoting health, productivity and wellbeing, and has been published in the top journals in multi-disciplinary research areas of social sciences, population health, gerontology, labour economics and demography, such as Social Science and Medicine (SSM), Population Health, BMC Health Services Research, Journal of Ageing and Health, Review of Income and Wealth, Journal of Population, Space and Place, etc. She has also been invited to review articles for 16 top journals, including Social Sciences and Medicines, BMJ Open, etc.
