How to apply

1. Identify and secure a supervisor
It is your responsibility to find a supervisor and make initial contact with them. The CIW Academic Members page is a great place to start in identifying ANU academics whose research field relates to your proposed research. The proposed supervisor must be a full-time academic staff at the ANU.

2. Find the program you want to study using the Program & Courses website
Once you have secured a supervisor, it would be easier for you to identify which program to apply to.

3. Click the 'Apply' button next to the desired Program
Please state clearly on the form you wish to be considered for the 'Australian Centre on China in the World Scholarship'. When you've completed the application form, please e-mail your ANU application number to ciw@anu.edu.au.

CIW cannot assist with your ANU application. If you have any questions about program requirements, please contact the college or school you’re considering applying to, or speak with your potential academic supervisor.

Note: Academic referee reports, using the ANU Research Application Referee Report Form, are essential to the application.

4. Receive an outcome
Your application details will only be forwarded to CIW if you have been accepted into a PhD Program at the ANU. Until then, CIW does not have access to your ANU application.

CIW will only contact you if you've been successful in the CIW PhD Scholarship application.
