Tang Yuen-ha is a performer of both Kunqu and Peking opera, and the only Hong Kong-based traditional opera artist to have been awarded China's prestigious Plum Blossom Award. She recently performed with Geng Tianyuan, principal artist with the JingKun Theatre, at the Australian Centre on China in the World at ANU. In this video Professor John Minford, a researcher at ANU College of Asia and the Pacific, discusses the appeal of Chinese opera to modern audiences.
