Professor Chang will speak at the Australian Centre for China in the World at the ANU in Canberra, on political developments in Taiwan and the effects on cross strait relations.

About the Speaker

Parris Chang is one of Taiwan’s leading political scientists and experts on Chinese affairs. A graduate of National Taiwan University, Parris has an MA from the University of Washington and a PhD from Colombia University. He was a member of Taiwan’s parliament from 1993-2004 and Deputy Secretary General of the National Security Council from 2004-2006. In the late 1970s, Parris was a visiting scholar at the ANU’s Contemporary China Centre.
