Buddhist merit-making in medieval China

About the Speaker
Stephen F. Teiser (A.B., Oberlin College; M.A. and Ph.D., Princeton University) is D. T. Suzuki Professor in Buddhist Studies and Professor of Religion in the Department of Religion at Princeton University. He specializes in the study of Buddhism and Chinese religions. His latest book, co-edited with Jacqueline I. Stone, is Readings of the Lotus Sūtra, published by Columbia University Press (2009). His current research focuses on Chinese Buddhist practice and medieval liturgical manuscripts. From 2010-2013 he served as Director of Princeton’s Program in East Asian Studies.
